The official 2027 Social Security cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) is 3.6%, as announced by the Social Security Administration. This ranks among the larger adjustments in recent decades, taking effect for Social Security benefits in January 2027 and for SSI recipients on December 31, 2026.

Note: A portion of the Social Security monthly bump will be offset by the $6.60 monthly increase in the standard Medicare Part B premium.
