Scams are possibly the most immediate threat to seniors. As a group, we are less savvy about technology, and some of us are experiencing cognitive losses. I've come to realize that we need to treat scams as predictable emergencies. It's not a question of if one of us will be scammed, it's happening to our friends, and even the most alert and savvy are capable of being tricked.
The attachments are drafts I have submitted to the NaCCRA Board for review. I offer them here for your comments and suggestions. Feel free to discuss them with your community leaders both in management and in your resident council. The core idea here is that scams are a community problem, one that needs to be dealt with like medical emergencies, fires, and other urgent risk management matters.
