Preferred Dining Dollars program

Our CCRC, managed by Life Care Services, redefined the contractual "m eal of the day" and has designated a dollar value for the meal. If a resident "spends" more than the dollar value, the additional cost is added to their monthly rent. Some residents feel this is a violation of their contract. I'd appreciate comments, opinions, and wish to hear from other CCRCs that have experienced similar i L ar situations.

Might I infer that "spends more" means eats too much or takes too much home?

That is handled simply here with a five course menu with free bread, condiments, non-alcoholic drinks included.

Servings above the simple five courses are charged extra. Here it is just under $2 for an extra entre and just under $1 for an extra side. These small charges get added to our bill.

A few residents are particularly large and adaptations are made for them to get hefty portions as required.
