NaCCRA Financials?

I want to start by thanking Philippa Strahm for giving Mr. Taylor and Mr. Wellborn the steps on accessing the IRS Form 990 for the years of 2017-2024. At this point this is all the financial posting that NaCCRA has done in the past and will continue to do. It would be a Board decision to post additional information. This appears to be consistent with the practices of our peer associations. In fact some don't even post their Form 990.

Obviously, we are at the end of our accounting year and will be filing and posting our 2025 990 in due course. In a general sense and in the spirit of transparency and as an answer to Mr. Wellborn's Forum inquiry, I can give you some preliminary and approximate general information for 2025.

  • Income - approximately 84% of NaCCRA Income is from individual dues - state and community associations each are approximately 6.5% and donations are about 1%. The remaining is miscellaneous.
  • Expenses - LifeLine in 2025 was approximately 44% - legal, club express and accounting accounted for approximately 42% - contract labor was approximately 3% and the remaining 11% is from a variety of sources.

We will continue to post our 990 Forms on our Club Express Website located in our Documents - Na-Admin-Misc. - Na-Financial-Reports - Na-IRS-Form-990.

I request that future inquiries of this nature be addressed directly to the NaCCRA Board or to me to ensure that responses are made timely.

Good Friday Morning Stan

I am sorry that you have not had a communication from our NaCCRA Board until today, 1/9/26. When your email originally was posted, I contacted our Treasurer, Jim Fennessey, and asked that he reply to you preliminarily with just an acknowledgment with specifics at a later date. Due to issues going on in his life after the New Year and up until now, he has not.

Please be advised that you will have you will receive a response from Jim in the near future. I ask that you be patient just a bit longer.

Thank you for your consideration and understanding.

Stan,

The 2017-24 IRS form 990s are on the website. Here are the clicks:

It looks like they may have been posted there last May and June.

By "CCRC communities" ("institutional CCRC memberships" in your Dec. 31 post) do you mean groups of CCRC residents or the CCRC organizations themselves?

i still await a response from our leadership on providing a current accounting of NaCCRA's assets and liabilities, and an answer to my question (see below) about how much of our membership dues come from individuals and how much from CCRC communities.

This should be readily available information posted on the NaCCRA website.

Can one of our officers please enlighten me?

The obvious question is why is the IRS 990 not on the NaCCRA website? I developed web sites for a couple of 501C3s and we always put their 990 on their web site -- with comments about the filing if necessary.

A reasonable and transparent way to deal with information that is public.

Stan,

If you scroll down on the ProPublica webpage, there's a link to the form 990 filed with the IRS, which has more detail.

Can someone tell me where annual financial information on NaCCRA is posted? I cannot find it on the NaCCRA website nor in recent newsletters.

ProPublica posted 2024 NaCCRA data apparently taken from the organization’s 990 filing that showed income at around $35K and expenses of $26K, and total assets of $90,000. Since there are no salaried employees, what are the specific expenses other than printing and mailing costs?

In the interest of transparency and openness, shouldn’t audited NaCCRA financials be made more accessible to members and the general public on the organization’s website – and updated annually?

I would also like to see a breakdown of income from individuals who join NaCCRA and income from institutional CCRC memberships.

If this information is already included online by NaCCRA, please let me know where to find it. Many thanks.
