Hybrid Zoom Meetings

I think it will work because you are not using the same mic for sound reinforcement as you are using for Zoom.  The sound from the computer with the Zoom participants is likely going to the same speakers as the sound reinforcement microphones. You would control the volume of the presenter with the house PA system, and then adjust the computer to a good level for the voices on the zoom call.

The advice I offered previously on setting levels is for a different system -- one in which the same microphone feeds sound to the Zoom and the house PA.  In that example, the sound from the computer goes to a separate amplifier and speaker.

With thanks to Richmond for pointing out that my first draft of a Hybrid Zoom solution was lacking a way for the audio from the zoom participants to be heard by the live attendees in the room.

In the attached second draft, I’ve attempted to cure that problem by making the host (Mac) computer the one that handles the zoom audio — that is, both the audio from the wireless mics for the in-room presenter and live audience, but also the audio from the zoom participants (from the Zoom Host Mac computer via HDMI to the in-room amp and speakers) to be heard by the in-room live audience.

Does this attached second draft solve the problem?
