What the OBBBA Means for You
Author Last Post

I don't think it is a problem. NAELA sent the notice to me because they know that NaCCRA wants to collaborate with them. I let them know that I published it here.

Thank you for the assistance. This works.

I registered and got an email that even said I could submit questions for the presentation. So it seems I am in. And I did share this info with my mail list, so some may also register.

Not sure how to relate to your newest post and what to do now, Richmond. Do they "know" I am not an attorney?

UPDATE

NAELA says, "Just to clarify, this Webinar is intended for attorneys and those connected to the elder law profession, so not really geared to consumers." They are distributing recordings to those who register. You would need their permission to share the recording.

You don't have to be a lawyer.

You click on the link.

Next you create a login and login.

During the registration process, when it comes time to pay OBBBA is used to get a discount and this wipes out the fee.

Perhaps NaCCRA could facilitate attendance at the webinar by NaCCRA members who are lawyers, and then make available to the NaCCRA membership what they have learned. This could be in written form, or a live discussion.  However, there is little time to get this started.

Absent that, if you’re not eligible to join NAELA, here’s two ways to get access to the content of the OBBBA webinar:

#1:

The NAELA website says membership is only $50 for law school students. (Scroll down in link below.)  If you know a law school student and are willing to pay for his/her membership, perhaps he/she would be willing to register for and sign into the NAELA webinar so that you could attend it.

#2:

Some attorneys offer free in-person and/or or web-based presentations on specific topics for their clients, but also to attract new clients. It is likely that for info. on OBBBA, this will happen shortly after the Aug. 21 NAELA webinar.

To find attorneys who are NAELA members, use the “Find a Lawyer” resource on the NAELA website:

https://www.naela.org/findlawyer

I checked it to a link to a Google Doc since the message doesn't do attachements but will o links and images.

Charles,

Would you expand on “use OBBBA?”

It is required to register to attend, which in turn requires a username and password. I tried “OBBBA” for both and that failed.

How do we proceed?

I am learning about Perplexity AI and how it can do research. I used the information about the webinar and asked Perplexity to provide an outline for a webinar targeted to elder law attorneys as described in the first email. I asked for slides, speaker notes, and a handout for seniors. I attached the results as a link to a shared Google Document. OBBBA for Seniors

PS . Mondaym August 18 - I changed access to anyone with the link so it should work now.

Charles, from what I saw, was that you had to be a legal professional to get the free event. I tried and filled out the form but got only so far when they asked for some license ID. I could by-pass that but then it was for members only and you had to pay an annual membership fee over $200. So more costly than the public event cost. So, I gave up.

I couldn’t.

Sorry - had the same experience - after 11 attempts to create and use a login, i gave up.

It is free if you click on the link and use OBBBA to get it free.

This is not a FREE webinar except to attorney members of NAELA.

The National Association of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) is offering an webinar on the BBB's impacts on seniors (their clients). It's free and the information is at this link. https://naela2.informz.net/informzdataservice/onlineversion/ind/bWFpbGluZ2luc3RhbmNlaWQ9MTIwNzE1MTkmc3Vic2NyaWJlcmlkPTEyMDczOTUwMDg=
