In my personal decisions about giving money, I focus on causes I feel connected to in some way. Perhaps I also do volunteer work, or I admire the people who work for the charity. I avoid causes that make shrill appeals, or seem too transactional. I think the goal should be relationship, not just extracting money from prospective donors. For more about this, read my Blog.

My community has separate fundraising for benevolent fund, employment appreciation fund, employee scholarship fund and employee emergency fund. The rules and disbursements are controlled by management.

Hello Richmond, Thank you for posting both here and in the general forum. I see this article as having application to the questions that extend the membership style programs into fundraising considerations in any 501c3, particularly with its emphasis on coming to understand what would most please each donor to do and achieve.
